Best Poker Games
Poker is a popular card game that has only gotten better and better. Since it was invented, poker has evolved and changed into what we know today, while birthing new ideas and variants that take poker to a whole new level. Although there are multiple different variants, we will take you through what we think are some of the most popular poker games in the industry and how to play them.
Texas hold ‘em Poker
Texas hold ‘em is one of the most popular poker games in the poker world and is often compared to Omaha hold ‘em in rules and gameplay. Poker games such as this one, along with Omaha hold ‘em, and many others are commonly featured in the World Series of Poker. The World Series of Poker is an extremely popular series of poker tournaments that many gamblers tune in for, being one of the world's best poker tournaments. If you want to play for high stakes, then entering the World Series of Poker may be what you’re looking for, if you’re skilled enough of course.
Unlike some of its counterparts, Texas hold ‘em is played with multiple opponents — one of which would be designated as the dealer. The button is a marker used to indicate who the ‘dealer’ is; since most casinos have a house croupier who shuffles and draws the cards, the button is used to specify which player is set to act last after the cards have been dealt. In a home game, the button will also act as the dealer. The player to the left of the dealer must bet the small blind. The big blind is then bet by the competitor to the left of the small blind. If you’re unfamiliar with these blinds, they are forced bets in flop-style poker, ranging from no blinds up to three. The values of these bets would be predetermined.
In the first round of betting, each competitor receives two hole cards facedown. Three face-up cards will be placed on the table, these are the community cards (the flop). Players can use the community cards in combination with their hold cards to create a five-card poker hand. Here players can either raise, call or fold. The competitor to the left of the dealer will always act first. The later you act the better since it allows you to make a decision based on the decision your opponents made. Once every player has acted, the fourth community card is placed on the table (the Turn). Active players will now try to make the best five-card hand from their two hole cards and the four community cards. After another round of betting takes place, the last community card will be placed (known as the river) on the table, and betting resumes. The competitor holding the best hand wins the pot. Some online Texas hold ‘em variants, like Texas Hold ‘em Bonus Poker do not have a betting round after the river card.
Card games like these may be a little advanced for beginners, and so, you may want to try playing three-card poker first. This popular poker game is played with three cards instead of five, so it is a lot easier to understand and follow than Texas hold‘em. We recommend starting off with online casino Three Card Poker first if you’re still finding your footing, especially when playing cash games.
Texas hold ‘em Poker Rules
Texas hold ‘em poker is a top poker game designed to put your skills to the test as you play against your opponents for a chance to win the pot. This popular poker game puts a fun twist on its traditional counterpart with gripping gameplay that many players can’t get enough of.
Like many other c poker games, the main objective is to beat the dealer’s hand with the best combination of cards you can create. Once the dealer and the blinds' value are determined in community poker, all players receive two hole cards and three community cards are placed on the table. Players may then choose to call, raise or fold. Two more betting rounds follow where players are dealt two more community cards before the showdown. If there is more than one player remaining after the final betting round, the last person to bet or raise will reveal their cards. If there was no bet on the final betting stage, then the player clockwise from the button will reveal their hand first. The pot is one by the competitor with the best combination of five cards. This poker game is played with a standard 52-card deck, which is mixed/shuffled after each game. If the showdown results in two identical hands, the pot will be equally split between the tied finalists.
The poker hand rankings closely resemble those used for Omaha poker. If we had to rank them in ascending order, these hands would rank as follows: a high card, a pair, two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, royal flush.

Texas hold ‘em Poker Strategy
There are a few notable strategies that may help you in your poker game. First and foremost, it is always essential to have a good bluffing strategy. Bluffing is a tactic used to trick players into thinking you have a better hand than you do. By doing so, will potentially make them fold a strong hand. This tactic requires timing and cannot always be used, so make sure you bluff at the best possible time.
There are many other strategies that you can try; just remember to always play responsibly. We don’t recommend heading straight to cash games when you’re still testing the waters. Instead, try out some RNG poker demos for some practice. Testing out strategies would inevitably aid you in making better decisions and maybe help you win a cash game or two.
Remember that strategies are not a sure-fire way of winning, they merely aid you in your poker endeavours.

Caribbean Stud Poker
Caribbean Stud Poker is a fun alternative version of poker, perfect for all the beginner poker players out there. Caribbean Stud Poker has many things in common with Texas hold ‘em, except that this online poker game eliminates community cards and the ability to bluff. The game itself is played against the house to give a similar feel to other Live Casino games, like Three Card Poker.
How to play Caribbean Stud Poker online?
In Evolution’s Caribbean Stud, at the beginning of each round and before the cards are dealt, the player must place an Ante bet. The player can use six different coloured chips found on the user interface to place this bet — each chip has its own value. The Ante is similar to the small blind in Texas hold ‘em poker. Unlike Texas hold ‘em though, the value of this bet is not fixed. In addition to the main bet, players can also place the optional 5+1 and Jackpot side bets. Once the betting time expires, the player and the dealer both receive a five-card poker hand. The player’s cards are dealt face up and the dealer’s hand is facedown except for one card.
Once the player has reviewed their five-card hand, they must decide whether they want to fold or continue the game, which will double the ante wager. In online Caribbean Stud Poker, this action can be performed by clicking on the ‘PLAY’ button after your five-card hand has been dealt. After all players raise or fold, the dealer will reveal their four hole cards and the best five-card poker hand wins the round.
Unlike Texas hold ‘em, Caribbean Stud Poker only lasts for one single betting round. The dealer’s hand must qualify with ace/king or better to go head-to-head with the player. If not, then the dealer folds and the player receives an automatic win. In this case, the player wins the Ante pot 1:1 and the Play bet is pushed (returned to the player).
If the dealer qualifies, and their hand actually beats the player’s hand, then both the Ante and the Play bets are lost and collected by the house. If the dealer qualifies to play but the player has a stronger hand, the player receives an even-money payout on their ante and a multiplier on their Play bet. The multiplier winnings depend on the hand they obtained, ranging from 1:1 for a pair or less to 100:1 on a royal flush. If the dealer and player tie (draw), implying both hands are of equal value, then the Ante and Play bets will be pushed. The deck is then reshuffled and another round begins.
The 5+1 side bet has greater payouts (ranging from 7:1 for three of a kind to 1000:1 for a royal flush), but keep in mind that the 5+1 bet also has a significantly higher house edge. Placing the Jackpot side bet qualifies the player for six additional bonus payouts and the top-prize progressive pot. These payouts range from €3 to €2,500 (the prizes will be indicated in your currency) and the progressive pot is shared between all players who have placed a Jackpot side bet in the winning round. The fixed payouts are awarded for a three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind and a straight flush. The progressive pot is won on a royal straight flush.

Caribbean Stud Poker Rules
The rules of Caribbean Stud Poker are quite easy to learn in comparison to Texas hold ‘em. The first step is to place an Ante bet before the round begins. Both the player and the dealer then receive a five-card hand. The player will be dealt five cards face up, and the dealer receives four hole cards and one upcard. From here it is up to the player to decide how to act — whether to play or fold. All cards will then be revealed, and a winner is determined.
There is only one round of betting in this online poker game as there is no additional draw. Eliminating the betting rounds makes the game very fast-paced, but this also implies that the rules and gameplay can be picked up easily. The poker hand rankings remain the same as in any other online poker variant, so you’re not venturing into new territory.
Carribean Stud Poker Odds
In Caribbean Stud Poker, you only play against the house — contrasting other poker variants where additional opponents are involved. This highly engaging game is so sought-after because players have better chances of winning than games like Texas hold ‘em where you play against opponents. In online Texas hold ‘em, however, the game is also played against the dealer and the player’s hand is shared between all players who wager.
We recommend checking out the paytable at the beginning of the game so that you can get a good understanding of the hand rankings and make better decisions during the game. All you need to do is head to the information tab found on the user interface for everything you need to know.
Caribbean Stud Poker Strategy
Although there is no perfect strategy that would guarantee a win, a good strategy to adopt is to review the dealer’s upcard. If this card is a king or an ace, this will give you a good indication of where the dealer may stand. Remember that a king plus an ace card is needed for the dealer to qualify. Similarly, it is recommended that you call/raise on any hand with a pair or better, and fold for anything less. This may help you reduce your number of losses, but make sure to thoroughly research any poker strategy that you wish to try.
What is Side Bet City?
Side Bet City is a unique variation of Texas hold ‘em poker. The objective of the game is to wager on a three-card, five-card or seven-card hand, built from a community pool of seven cards. Players can also wager on All Lose, if they believe that no hands will be formed in the round. In this single-deck game, the dealer will draw seven cards in total.
The first three cards determine the results of the 3 Card Hand bet; the first five are used for the 5 Card Hand bet; and all seven are taken into account for the 7 Card Hand wager. Hands that qualify for the 3 Card Hand bet are: any pair (1:1), three of a kind (35:1), straight (5:1), flush (4:1), straight flush (40:1) and royal flush (100:1). For five-card hands, pair JJ-AA and above qualify, with payouts ranging from 1:1 for JJ-AA pairs to 1000:1 for a royal flush. Three of a kind (3:1) or better qualify for the 7 Card Hand bet, where the royal flush pays 500:1.
Although these poker hands may take a little getting used to, all it takes is a little practice. For a more detailed explanation of poker hand rankings, check out our article Poker Hands Ranking at the LV BET blog. Side Bet City is a fantastic poker variant that we’re sure you will love. Try it out to bask in the neon lights and enjoy gameplay that is simply one-of-a-kind!
How To Play Side Bet City Poker?
As in most poker games, the first step is to place your bet. Since this is Side Bet City, there are quite a few to choose from, including the 3 Card Hand, 5 Card Hand and 7 Card Hand bets, as well as the All Lose bet.
Once all bets are placed, the dealer will proceed to hand out a total of seven cards in specific intervals. First, you will receive three cards to form a three-card hand, followed by two sets of two cards to form the five-card and seven-card hands. A winning message will be displayed every time you win. Once all cards have been dealt, and a winner is determined, the game will begin again with a reshuffled deck and a new round of betting.
Side Bet City Poker Strategy
Although there is no perfect strategy that will help you secure a win, there are a couple of tips and tricks that may help boost your odds. At the end of the day, practising the game is one of the best ways to learn how to make better decisions in poker. Once you have a solid grasp of the poker hands, you will learn which cards to discard and which of those to keep and potentially build the best hand.
The best advice we can give you is to, first and foremost, learn the poker hands and how they rank — knowing what beats what will help you realise which cards you need to discard, when to call and when to fold. Minimise your losses as much as possible and become the best poker strategist you can be.
As with all Live Casino games, poker is primarily based on luck so losses are to be expected as much as we all want to win. Don’t let this bring you down, though! Whether you win or lose, there will always be a lesson to be learned.
If you would like to try your luck, LV BET hosts loads of unique poker variants and other card games for you to enjoy.
